Our little corner

Denny saw the oncologist today. Everything looks good. He got the official readings on the MRI and CT scans. They found 2 nodules on his right lung at his last checkup in July. The nodules have not changed in size on the latest scans so they believe them to be a side effect of radiation. The plan is to monitor them. Denny and I were quite surprised to hear about this as we were never told about them in July of 2011.

Still no word on the tissue sample. It will take about 5 business days from the date the sample was sent off. I'll post as soon as we know something.

In the meantime, he's headed home to Nashville now. All is well in our little corner of the world...

Preliminary results

Denny's prelim results are coming in clear. The MRI and CT scans have to be "offically" read but the ENT and Neurologist do not see anything. The ENT ran a scope up into the sinus cavity and said it looks good except for one section that had grandular scar tissue. The doc took a sample and sent it off to the lab as a precaution but said he didn't think it was anything to worry about.

Denny sees Dr. Atkins, his oncologist, on Monday morning. Hopefully, all will go well at that appointment also. Then, he will head for home.

In the meantime, he will be joining friends/family to watch the Mizzou game and the Superbowl.

I'll update the blog on Monday. Thanks for checking in.

Love to all,
Deb

First Tests of the New Year

Hey all,

Denny is leaving for STL tomorrow for his first check-up of 2012. Bright and early on Friday morning, he starts with an MRI and then sees 2 doctors. Then he has a CT scan in the afternoon. On Monday, he sees his oncologist and then heads home.

We are hoping the tests come back clear. If you remember, last time the doctor thought he saw something but the biopsy came back negative.
We will keep you posted on the outcome.

Thanks for checking in!

Love to all,
Deb
